Designing our Master Bath has been somewhat of a challenge for me! I had my heart set on having a shower and a free standing tub, but our space just didn’t allow for this. When building you sometimes have to get creative. We chose to move our tub to the “half bath” next to our master bath and I couldn’t be more excited! This will allow us to create a peaceful space that isn’t too crammed.
Our first home only had one bathroom and it was less than enjoyable. When we were designing our floor plan I wanted to make sure my husband and I had a bathroom of our own to enjoy.
Here is our mood board for our Master Bath.
Tile
I originally had planned to do large matte black hex tiles on the main floor and have really been leaning towards the smaller hex tiles. This is still a decision I need to make final, but for now small white hex tiles are on my mind!
Our shower will be classic subway tile – you can never go wrong with simple and classic! We will use matte black penny tile on the shower floor. I am still looking at our options for the shower glass. I am leaning towards having as much glass as possible to soak up as much natural light!
Walls
Our walls for now will be painted the same color as the rest of the house. We have chosen Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace! You can look through my favorite white paint colors in this article.
Vanity
We have chosen a wood vanity with double sinks. The most exciting part about our vanity is we are building it ourselves! Stay tuned for more articles on our custom built vanities.
Fixtures
In this space, we will be using all matte black fixtures for faucets and lighting. We will have two shower heads and two faucets. We will be using black pendant lights as well over the vanity. We plan to use a white counter top on the vanity and I love the contrast of black and white!
I cannot wait to show you our plan for the half-bath turned full bath! Stay tuned!
